The Flute Academy Of Southwest Florida (Become Extraordinary, LLC ) currently offers flute lessons, recorder lessons and FREE flute ensemble/flute choir to enrolled students of all age and skill levels. We welcome adult beginners and those revisiting the flute after time away from the flute
Music lessons are uniquely designed to support the individual preferences and goals of students of all ages. Private lessons focus on technical skills, theory, ensemble playing, performance experience and musical history. Students learn practice strategies and goal setting and gain confidence and experience joy through accomplishment and personal success.

Meet the Instructor
Linda Bento-Rei holds a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance, cum laude, from the Boston Conservatory Of Music (now at Berklee) and a Master of Music in Flute Performance as a merit scholar from The New England Conservatory Of Music, Boston, MA. She has taught music in after school public school programs and college preparatory schools in Massachusetts and Florida, and has maintained a private flute studio and flute choir throughout her career. Bento-Rei holds a Level 2 Volunteer Security Clearance from Sarasota County. She has also served as principal flutist with the Venice Symphony for six season. She and her husband co-founded Sarasota Musica Viva, a non-profit chamber music organization in 2016 and has presented more than sixty unique chamber music concerts throughout Southwest Florida and New England. Last spring (2025) Bento-Rei toured Europe with long time collaborator, Vytas J. Baksys, pianist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra performing acclaimed concerts in Germany, Greece and Lithuania. The duo is currently working on recording their seventh CD project.
Lesson Recommendations And Costs
Beginner Students:
30 minute lesson $30 recommended once a week
Intermediate Students (year 2-3):
45 minute lesson $45 recommended once a week
Advanced Students (year 3 on):
60 minute lesson $60 recommended once or twice a week
Lessons are billed/payable one month in advance and may be purchased via cash, Zelle or Venmo.
Cancelled lessons with 24 hour notice will be rescheduled dependent on schedule.
Less than 24 hour notice will be rescheduled at the teacher’s discretion.
Exceptions include illness and or emergency.
Lesson location in my home in Venice and/or at 205 West Venice Ave., Venice.
